What's this?

Good luck getting your car to start if you’re in dutch with the car lot that sold it to you, according to an Associated Press story.

Many auto dealers are demanding that high-risk car buyers mount a device in the car that will flash green if payments are made on time – and allow the owner to start the car. Running a little behind on your payments? You’ll need to investigate alternative modes of transportation.

Starter-interrupt devices are becoming a popular way for lenders to ensure they get paid, and consumers seem willing to accept them to get into nicer cars, use a smaller down payment and qualify for a lower interest rate, according to device manufacturers.

You can read more about these devices at Bad-credit buyers pay bill or car won't start.
