Minnesota Hospital Outsources Accounts Receivable Management to Per-Se Technologies

North Memorial Medical Center has selected to outsource its outreach laboratory's accounts receivable (AR) management to Per-Se Technologies, the leader in Connective Healthcare that helps physicians, hospitals and pharmacies realize their financial goals. The 518-bed medical center is an independent healthcare provider located in the Twin Cities.

The outreach lab selected Per-Se based on its proven experience with pathology outsourcing services and its integrated approach with a Web-based laboratory AR software from market-leader, XIFIN Inc.

"We needed a vendor that understands the complexities of pathology laboratory AR management and could implement a solution quickly," said Patrick Boran, chief financial officer for North Memorial Medical Center. "We found what we were looking for with Per-Se, which combined its business process outsourcing services with XIFIN's software to present us with a comprehensive business solution for our laboratory." Boran also added that Per-Se's processes, such as collecting correct patient information before a claim is generated, will help his outreach laboratory.

An outreach lab is a hospital-based pathology lab that provides diagnostic testing services to physicians, whether or not they are affiliated with the hospital. Per-Se provides billing software through XIFIN and specialized staff to accurately track and control the revenue cycle.
