Before Per-Se Technologies and McKesson Corporation could pop the champagne and toast their glowing success – McKesson will acquire Per-Se Technologies, Inc. for the low, low price of $1.8 billion there was a little matter of U.S. anti-trust authorities giving their blessing, too.
And they did. Tuesday, anti-trust authorities approved drug wholesaler McKesson Corp.'s proposed purchase of health administration company Per-Se Technologies.
The purchase broadens McKesson's portfolio of health care software. Per-Se sells software and services to hospitals, physicians and pharmacies.
The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2007.
