Citigroup is looking to expand in Germany by making small acquisitions, according to Reuters.

The head of Citigroup’s German operations, Sue Harnett, told Reuters today that the banking giant would try to focus on small acquisition targets that could be bolted on to current operations, rather than a single large acquisition. The statement was in response to questions asked regarding Citigroup’s potential interest in Landesbank Berlin which is up for sale for around $5 billion.
